Versatile and unsurprisingly, very popular, grey front doors and frontages have taken over from white and dominated in the last few years. As a colour, grey tends to highlight "contemporary style" when used for windows - but it can work just as well for doors.

1. Anthracite grey front doors

This great development by TG Designer Homes is set in Kent in the picturesque town of Appledore. Our Numero doorset is seen here with vertical grooves and finished in a dark anthracite grey. The setting of the door in architectural glass adds additional grandeur to this contemporary coastal home.

The door is tall at 2.7m and 1.2m wide and really sets the tone for the entrance.  

All the houses on the development have the same door, but each is etched with its own house number.

2. Contemporary grey front door

It's always a good idea to create contrast and make your front door stand out. This was definitely the case with this enchanting house by TW2 Architects. Our Rondo V, grey painted contemporary door stands out fabulously against all that cladding and also looks impressive from the inside against the glaring white walls.

You will also notice that the door is vertical whereas the cladding is horizontal - another way to create contrast and interest.

The Rondo V design can be made with stainless steel strips or without. These tend to stand out when used on a painted door.

3. Light grey front door

We all love this door in the office as it really brings home what Urban Front is all about. The Root design here looks fabulous in it's very distinctive surround in zinc and the aluminium curtain walling around it.

Going for a lighter colour on your door than the rest of the windows on the building is a great way to ensure that your front door stands out.

The Root e80 with pivot opening shown here is approximately 1.2m x 2.4m and is in the light grey RAL colour 7004.

4. Anthracite grey internal doors

These stunning internal doors are our Root design in an anthracite grey.

When our customer initially asked us for this door colour internally, we were a bit sceptical. But it proves that any design can work if it's done properly with a certain degree of thought.

Here, the doors match the floor (if you look closely you can see the geometric design) and all the frames are in a simple white. We love how the light accentuates the colours and design.
