This wonderful house by architect Heinz Richardson of JESTICO + WHILES has recently won a RIBA South Award 2016.

House 19 is a two storey home within a suburban area in an old town in Buckinghamshire with fairly ordinary looking homes surrounding it.  We were first approached by the architect on the project who was very particular about the door he wanted to use.  A lovely opportunity to highlight a doorway within a  beautifully detailed corten canopy and stunning flint work. The rest of the building includes burnt cedar cladding --the ancient Japanese art of burning timber to provide a beautiful and long lasting product - and black windows. The front elevation hides a fabulous inner courtyard and a very well lit house which is very white in contrast to the exterior.

The door chosen was a Terano E80 in an oak stained in a very particular black/grey. The mixture of stainless steel and corten accessories work together to make this door look quite special.
