This house is a perfect 'how to' for merging both traditional and contemporary style. All of us at Urban Front loved the mix of traditional oak frame with the sharp Iroko Rondo V pivot doorset. Choosing Iroko instead of European Oak clearly elevates the doorset and defines it as the main entrance. Using a reddish warm wood like Iroko instead of a more yellowy oak is a pretty clever way to add warmth and mix hardwoods well.
Bringing it all together is the stunning bronze pull leaf motif handle - another way to bridge contemporary and traditional; bronze is a strong material which works well in both genres and in the right style is classy and an effective style statement. Just wanted to say how very pleased we are with our new Urban front door. What a stunner, suits the house beautifully to our eyes. May I also say the mechanism that locates the pivot door at the top is a thing of wonder & the light key turn & door thumb release make the door a joy to use. The whole thing is beautifully packaged & presented too a real credit to you.Darren L, the Oak Framed House
