Aluminium curtain walling for frontages isn’t a new thing and it’s been done a lot over the last few years. But it’s still very much ‘a trend’ that is continuing and very popular. As you can see from the images above, it can definitely enhance the look of the house and give it some interest especially if there is a galleried hall and a striking entrance is required.
Design and finish
The benefit of curtain walling for doors, is that it divides the front of the house and allows you to have a door of any finish. This allows you to keep the garage doors and windows in a different colour – which can sometimes be quite a difficult dilemma. You can see some examples of this above in the images. It’s a great opportunity to be creative with either RAL colours or timber and design something striking yet fitting which doesn’t have to necessarily match anything. Keeping in mind that a matching colour to the actual aluminium would probably be counterproductive. We think it’s all about opposites attracting.
It’s also a great opportunity to create an illusion of size – a door with boarded panels within the wall is quite deceptive and the same could be said for using double doors or a door and a half.
Is it easy to order and fit?
A particularly easy fitted solution, the aluminium frame of the curtain walling works just like a wall. It is sometimes possible that the door frame will need a rebate but it most cases it doesn’t and the fitting is very similar to a wall.
