What was the brief for the property?
To create a modern, elegant, and timeless design using high-quality materials. We were asked to use the site levels to show a discrete single-storey building from the road, with two levels from the back.
Why did you/the homeowners choose an Urban Front door?
For the high-quality materials and detailing. It’s a timeless specification and makes a grand entrance for all. With the build now complete, it is a success, and this greeting and entrance point is a highlight.
Is the property sustainable?
We looked to surpass building regulations and also use the solar power of the sun to provide winter and summer heat to minimise the heating requirements.
Were there any challenging moments during either the planning process or the work/build?
Planning and contracting are always watch areas along with budget, so we work on these, but sometimes these matters can be out of our control and require a fight, but the results speak for themselves.
What is your favourite part of the finished property?
Its modernity – keeping things simple and timeless. It’s close to a conservation area and the town centre and fits in while embracing its contemporary vibes.
