In the past few months, our clients have been very keen to be as unique as possible with their choice of door. ‘Unique’ you say – surely even ‘unique’ isn’t anymore? Most no longer want a door that just blends in – they want a door that stands out and makes you think and gasp in wonderment.
I’ve always been a big fan of pivot doors and although they’ve been around for a while they are making a bit of a revival in the shape of much larger doors. They make any entrance into a feature, are large enough to be impressive but still practical and are really quite fun. For a twist on just a plain pivot door, try using as much glass as possible – glass is trending quite a lot too.
Colour seems to be in fashion as well – I think any colour that can eclipse the mighty grey that has been popular now for a few years. Metallic RAL colours are in fashion as is yellow – yes, I did say yellow.
In hardwood, our most popular timbers are American Black Walnut, European Oak and Fumed Oak with an emphasis on oiled doors as these look a lot more natural.
