Sustainable solutions

Environmentally conscious product design
Our products are designed to preserve and restore the environment. Our doors are coated exclusively with non-toxic, water-based paints. This significantly reduces harmful VOC emissions, improves indoor air quality, and minimises environmental pollution throughout production and use.

Pollution prevention and toxin reduction
Our exclusive use of water-based paints prevents emissions to air, contamination of water and soil, and supports a cleaner, safer production process. Toxin reduction is a core environmental attribute of our product line and central to our impact business model.

Investing in new machines
We have invested in two new machines, which will reduce our energy consumption, and make our workshop more efficient.

Our current briquette machine will soon be replaced with a combined deduster and briquette press. This new system is aerodynamically designed, more efficient, and quieter. We estimate that the new machine will save 3.5kW per hour, which equates to around 8750kW per year.

Already in use in our workshop, our new CNC machine, which cost £122,000, uses less energy than the previous iteration, and enables us to make our doors 30% quicker.

Timber waste-to-energy
Wood waste is an unavoidable by-product when manufacturing timber products. We operate a comprehensive timber purchasing policy to minimise waste, and we've invested in technologies and processes to manage and use our wood waste.

Using the combination of a briquette machine and our DEFRA clean air exempt biomass burner, we process all of our wood dust, shavings and offcuts. This innovative approach allows us to convert these waste materials into a valuable energy source. By using them to heat our workshop, we reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill and decrease our reliance on conventional gas energy.

The result? A reduction of our CO2 footprint by an impressive 22.2 tonnes per year. We take pride in our commitment to environmental stewardship and strive to be at the forefront of sustainable manufacturing practices in the timber industry.
