Double delight: the joy of a dual door

Once you’ve chosen the external side of your door, it’s time to think about what's going on the inside. Most of our doors can be the same on both sides but there are exceptions, including the Barn and the Bari (due to their weight). Regardless, lots of our clients take the chance to mix things up by choosing different options for the two sides. The fabulous examples below illustrate the impact that can be created.

Door details: Front door: Barn (external) and Rondo V in RAL 4003 (internal) 1005mm x 2245mm with option 18 handle and fingerprint entry with motorised lock.

"The textured, rustic quality of the barn door works well with the material palette, almost echoing driftwood found at the beach. The combination of barn wood and hot pink is unique and special," says Jo Kroes Randell, director, Randell Design Group. Click here for more.

"We're pleased that the client trusted our instinct to paint the door internally to match the design scheme and to leave it in natural wood externally. We hope that, over time, the iroko wood will age and develop a natural patina, which will make it look more rustic," says Pia Pelkonen, interior designer. Click here for more.

Bari door design in fumed oak, integrated wooden handle and number etching
Choosing a new front door comes with a world of possibility - the Assafs chose a bold dual solution with different designs and finishes internally & externally

Door details: Bari pivot in fumed oak with RAL 1026 on the internal side.

"We wanted the front door to echo our cladding so we used the same concept of raised, different-level elements with a concealed handle. My husband has a thing for yellow, so we went bold on the internal side of the door," says Elizabeth Assaf, co-founder and designer, Urban Front. Click here for more.

Door details:  Raw Bronze 101 (external) and Porto in RAL 9005 (internal) 1490mm by 2520mm with BZ5 handle

"I quickly decided that I wanted the bronze finish. The barn exterior is so dark with black wood cladding and a dark grey zinc roof, and I knew the bronze would lift the whole look. I chose black for the internal side of the door," Jade, homeowner and interior designer. Click here for more.
